3on What filling, non-fried snack do you keep in the car for school pickup?
boiled peanuts with salt and lemon in a steel box. my two girls still eat it in the car, and they're older. roasted chana and a banana also work. cheap and nobody fights over it 🤷
2on Leave ends next month and daycare can't take him until five months
Different line of work, but I ran our order planning from home with my first one. I told the regular customers straight away and they were kinder than I expected. Camera off and hoping nobody hears a baby is more stress than just saying it once. Six weeks also goes faster than it sounds.
0on The only skating batch for my preschooler is 7.30 on Saturday morning
Could you ask about a later batch on Sunday? Even a different coach might be fine at that age.
6on My 12 year old wants half an hour after school where nobody asks her anything
Give it to her. Both mine needed exactly that, the elder one till about 15. The caregiver part was easy for us, we just said tiffin questions happen at 5. The sibling is harder 🤷
2on class 11 started and now she sleeps 5 to 8 every evening, then studies till 1
Went through this with my elder one in 11th. The evening sleep wasn't the problem, the 1 am finish was. We moved her coaching sheets to before dinner and made 11.30 lights out, non-negotiable for a month. Lot of sulking. Worked eventually 🤷
0on My 10 year old wants a skincare routine. I'm a dermatologist.
Girls here went through this at 12. Passed once the influencer they followed moved on to something else 🤷 Basics and wait it out.
2on Small paddling tub on the balcony for a 1 year old in this heat. Good idea or a worry?
Mine lived in a bucket of water on our balcony every summer till she was about three. As a teenager she still sits with her feet in a bucket when the power goes. Enjoy it.
0on Our 10 year old was removed from the class group chat by the classmate who runs it
I wouldn't message the parent. Ask your son if he wants to sort it out himself at school, and help him with what to say if he does. At that age these groups change every few weeks.
2on The class 5 farewell has a DJ, a dress code and a red carpet. I'd settle for cake
Hollywood night for class 5 is a lot. Our younger one's class did a Bollywood theme years back, she wore her cousin's lehenga and hated it by 8 pm. If he's horrified, let him be comfortable.
