Leave ends next month and daycare can't take him until five months

So there's a gap of about six weeks. Plan A is me working from home with our son in the next room, with family covering a couple of days a week. My job is mostly remote anyway, plus the odd evening production call. On paper it sounds fine. Did anyone manage this with a baby this small, or did you end up working at night?

My partner tried a version of this when our daughter was small. It worked on the days she slept and on no other days 🤷 The calls are the problem, not the work. Work you can move to nap time. A call you can't.

Calls are exactly what worries me. Most of mine are planned, so I could push them to evenings when my partner is home. It's the unplanned ones. Did your partner tell the team, or just keep the camera off?

      Replying to @plum_tiffin_8349

Different line of work, but I ran our order planning from home with my first one. I told the regular customers straight away and they were kinder than I expected. Camera off and hoping nobody hears a baby is more stress than just saying it once. Six weeks also goes faster than it sounds.
