My 10 year old wants a skincare routine. I'm a dermatologist.
Boys in his class apparently have three-step routines now. He has written out his list. Serum is on it. He is 10 😂 How are other parents handling this?

My 8 year old started asking for lip balm and face mist because of videos. I said soap, water and sunscreen, and she gets to pick the soap. That bought me a few months.
Wait till 14, then it's hair wax and a deo the whole floor can smell :) My periamma told me let them have one grown-up thing and say no to the rest. Worked with my elder one.
Which products exactly? Face wash and sunscreen, no problem. Acids and serums at 10, ask him where he saw them. That answer is usually the real issue.
Girls here went through this at 12. Passed once the influencer they followed moved on to something else 🤷 Basics and wait it out.
you're the one parent who can't be told you don't know what you're talking about. use it
Our younger one is 9 and started too, because his brother uses a face wash. I let him use the same one. The routine lasted about ten days before he forgot. The older one never bothered.
Does he want the products, or does he want to be part of the conversation about them? For my daughter it was mostly the second.
Keep going
