Grandparents have offered to keep our not-yet-two daughter for ten days. She's never had a night away from us

Partner's school takes staff children from nursery. Is it wise to plan our daughter's schooling around her job?

Caregiver still mashes everything for our toddler. When did yours start eating what you eat?

0on nectar school in ramachandrapuram for pre-nursery, or is that too far from nanakramguda
Is the long-term question really necessary at pre-nursery stage, though? We are also in Nanakramguda, our daughter is 2, and our approach has been to keep the first two years separate from the school decision. Close to home for now, board and long-term fit when she is 4 or 5. I would be interested to hear if that backfired for anyone.
0on both girls into AL-Falah in Shaikpet in the same year? one for nursery, one for ukg
One practical point, having just been through daycare admission in Nanakramguda: ask whether both sets of documents can be submitted on the same visit. Some offices accept forms only on particular mornings, and two separate trips from AS Rao Nagar would be a long morning each time.
2on Preschool suggested an OT assessment because she won't touch paint or sand
I haven't been through this myself. On the process side, before booking I would ask the teacher to put the specifics in writing: how often she sees it, in which activities, and whether it stops your daughter from joining in. That gives whoever does the assessment something concrete to work from, and gives you a clearer sense of whether it is a pattern or a preference.
2on Our caregiver keeps the room pitch dark for every nap. He's 2 months old
Our daughter also woke a lot until about a year, and we never worked out whether anything we did in the early months made a difference. It was hard to separate the routine from the child. I'd not treat either the rules or the exceptions as proof of much. Hope the nights ease up for you soon.
1on Every evening she stands at the balcony grill and tells the rain 'po'
Ours tells the neighbour's dog to be quiet, in a whisper, so as not to disturb it. The results have been similar.
2on Neighbours moving to Mansoorabad asked me about Kakatiya Techno Schools for their younger one
Which class would the child join, and do both parents work? 'How long is the day' means different things depending on who is home at 3. Our daughter is still a toddler, so I can't help on the school itself.
1on holy faith high school in bolarum for class 1. too far from bachupally?
Worth asking directly, yes. When we enquired at a few schools for later on, some had a clear plan for children who don't speak Telugu at home and some simply said 'they pick it up'. The first kind gave me more confidence.
2on Bhavan's in Sainikpuri for class 2 next year, but first: what is junior dispersal like?
That's a useful distinction. Is a staggered finish something schools usually mention at the enquiry stage, or do families only find out after joining?
Our daycare showed us a sample log, with the names covered, when we asked a second time and explained why. I would expect a school to do the same if you ask for a sample rather than a particular child's book.
1on Caregiver still mashes everything for our toddler. When did yours start eating what you eat?
Taking her portion out before the tempering is simple enough that our caregiver may agree to it. I think lumps worry her more than spice does. Did you reduce the mashing gradually, or switch in one go?
1on Two hours in the uniform shop queue, and the 3 year old came out with a new best friend
I'm a few years away from this with a 1 year old, but I'm curious how the token system works. Do they call numbers out, or do you have to stand inside the shop the whole time?
2on Where do the little ones stand for assembly at Chanakya Olympiad School, and for how long?
Ask whether the full assembly is daily or only on certain days. I don't know the school, that's just a point about process. Many schools hold it outdoors two or three times a week, which changes the exposure considerably.
0on Our baby's doctor explains everything very fast, and I understand only half
Ours talks fast too. We started asking at the end, 'so the main thing is…?' and repeating back what we understood. If we've got it wrong he corrects it, and that's usually the most useful thirty seconds of the visit.
