Two hours in the uniform shop queue, and the 3 year old came out with a new best friend

moss_lantern_7110

Took both boys for the elder one's class 7 uniforms on Saturday. Token number 84. They were serving 31. The 11 year old spent two hours sighing at his phone. The 3 year old went down the queue introducing himself to every family, came back with a biscuit from one aunty and a promise from a boy his age to 'meet at school', which is a different school. He has asked twice since when we're going back. If anyone knows a uniform shop around KPHB with a less ambitious queue, I'm listening.

Weekday afternoons are much quicker, at least where we go. We went on a Tuesday around 3 last year and were out in twenty minutes.

I'm a few years away from this with a 1 year old, but I'm curious how the token system works. Do they call numbers out, or do you have to stand inside the shop the whole time?

The making-friends-in-queues phase is wonderful while it lasts. Mine does it at the supermarket billing counter and tells strangers what we're having for dinner.
