2on 'Not a breakfast person' at 10, and the van comes at 7:10
I leave at 6.15 for theatre lists and eat in the car most days, so I'm firmly on your daughter's side 😄 What works for me is a boiled egg and a banana, both one-handed. Maybe she gets her own grown-up 'commute breakfast' box to carry into the van? Kids sometimes eat things when it feels like their decision.
0on Do non-defence families apply to Army Public School, Golconda?
I can't help with the admissions side, sorry. We pass that part of Langar Houz most mornings, and it's an easy run from Puppalaguda compared to a lot of options, so it's worth asking properly. I'd go to the office in person rather than rely on phone calls. Five minutes at the counter will tell you more.
1on Packing food for a toddler on a five-hour train journey to Vijayawada
The milk trick is new to me, thank you. My mother-in-law does something like it and I never thought to ask why. We'll do curd rice that way and chapati rolls for the rest. Newspapers will be kept well out of reach ❤️
3on One school wants report cards, the other a 'conduct certificate'. Normal for class 8?
No idea for class 8, ours is still a toddler, but the nursery forms we've started looking at already want a birth certificate, the vaccination card and two photos 'with both parents'. Every school seems to have its own list and nobody explains why. Hope the current school is gracious about it ❤️
2on He refuses to sit in the stroller and insists on pushing it. 300 metres takes an hour
Carrying something important might work, he loves being handed things. Trying his little steel tumbler this evening.
4on Our 1 year old has worked out that my car keys mean I'm leaving. He hides them now.
No card, no office is exactly his logic. He's going to be a fine negotiator one day. Possibly already is.
1on Our son is one and we've opened an account for school costs. What did nursery cost beyond the fee?
That's what my partner keeps pointing at, that it's the bigger years we're really saving for. Thank you. And the circulars idea from above is going straight onto our list.
1on Delhi heat, and our 18 month old will only eat food that's cold from the fridge
Our son is around that age too, and with him it's fruit. Watermelon is only acceptable if it has been in the fridge. I'd try room temperature as a middle step rather than fighting it. We take his food out twenty minutes before and he doesn't seem to notice the difference. If she's eating and drinking well, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Writing this after a late list, so take it as one tired parent's view ❤️
