Do non-defence families apply to Army Public School, Golconda?

pebble_wave_9172

Our daughter is still in preschool, so this is a long-range question. A colleague mentioned Army Public School in Golconda as an option for the later classes, and it's not far from Puppalaguda. We have no defence connection. I can't find a clear answer on whether civilian families apply at all, and if they do, from which class. Has anyone been through this, or asked the school directly?

I can't help with the admissions side, sorry. We pass that part of Langar Houz most mornings, and it's an easy run from Puppalaguda compared to a lot of options, so it's worth asking properly. I'd go to the office in person rather than rely on phone calls. Five minutes at the counter will tell you more.

Wouldn't want to guess on this one, such schools can have very specific rules. Ask the office for their admission categories in writing, or a printed notice if they have one. Then you know exactly where you stand 🤷

Getting it in writing matters. When we looked at a school with category-based admissions for our daughter, the person at the counter told us one thing and the printed notice said another. The notice was what counted in the end.

No idea about APS specifically. One thing from looking at schools for my boys over the years: start asking a full year ahead. Some places we liked had no seats left by the time we got round to asking in March 🙂
