0on Asking for my niece, who is looking at Holy Mothers Grammar School in Malakpet for nursery
Walking distance at nursery age is worth more than people think. My son's first school was ten minutes from our house and it saved us on every sick day, every rainy day and every forgotten water bottle. If it's close and she likes it at the visit, that counts for a lot ❤
0on Someone calling himself an admission consultant is offering a class 5 seat. Anyone used one?
You're right to be wary. Long before WhatsApp, when my son was small, people used to hang around school gates with the same promise. Every admission that worked out for us went through the school office and nothing else. If a school's process is unclear, call the office and ask; they're used to the question.
1on What time does the crowd outside Genius Grammer High School clear in the afternoon?
At his age, could he walk the last stretch from the main road and you pick him up or drop him there? We did that with our son around that age, it saved us both the jam and he liked the bit of independence ♥
One comma, and she'd have circled it in red, so yes. He was very relieved it was just the one ❤️
1on Pregnant and tired, and my 4 year old still wants to be carried everywhere
One thing that worked for us when my son was about that age: give her a job at the bottom of the stairs, something small to carry up for you. My son carried my keys up three floors for months and felt very important. It does get easier ❤️
0on Counselling options due this week. A branch he likes far away, or CSE at a college near home?
We went through this last July. Our son chose the branch he wanted over the 'safer' option, and it was the college farther away. He's going into second year now. The travel was hard for the first two months. Then he found two others on the same route, they started taking the college bus together, and that changed everything. So the thing I'd check: does the far college run buses from your side, and what time do they leave? That one detail made the decision liveable for us. Whatever he picks, the fact that he can tell you why he wants mechanical is a good sign ❤️
0on Son's family may rent in Attapur next year. How is SR Digi School there for a class 4 joiner?
On the seat question, class 4 joiners are more common than people fear. When our son was in primary, his class took in three or four new children almost every year, from moves and transfers. The ones who settled fastest were the ones who joined a sport or a club in the first month, so your cricket point is a good one.
1on I teach languages all day. Our 2 month old says 'aaghoo' and I reply in full paragraphs
Lovely. Our son had a sound like that, and his grandfather answered him in Kannada every single time. They had long talks, the two of them. Enjoy it ❤️
1on Has anyone's little one started nursery at Vishwa Bharathi High School in AS Rao Nagar?
Such a good question. When my son started, years ago now, his school kept the criers and sent us a photo at 11 of him happily eating. I couldn't decide whether to be relieved or offended ❤ Whoever does the visit should ask exactly this.
