Has anyone's little one started nursery at Vishwa Bharathi High School in AS Rao Nagar?

Asking for the lady who sends our weekday tiffin. She lives in AS Rao Nagar and is looking at Vishwa Bharathi High School for her daughter's nursery. She isn't on here, and she asked me because I'm 'the professor', as if that makes me an expert on nurseries :) What she'd like to know from anyone who has a child there or lives nearby: the length of the nursery day, whether the little ones have their own area, and how much Telugu and English they hear in class. The family speaks mostly Telugu at home. Anything else worth asking when she visits, I'll pass on.

We're in AS Rao Nagar but our son is too small for school yet, so nothing first-hand. Tell her to go at dismissal time if she can. That's when you see how they hand over the small ones.

'the professor' is a heavy title to carry into nursery questions. for the language part, she could ask to sit in a nursery class for ten minutes. what they speak with the kids will be obvious in two

not every school lets you sit in, ours didnt for nursery. they did let us stand at the door for the morning circle though and that told us enough

My partner teaches at a state board school, a different one. One question my partner says parents rarely ask, and should: what happens with children who cry for the first few weeks. Do they call the parent to take the child home, or keep the child? It differs a lot between schools and it matters if both parents work.

    • Such a good question. When my son started, years ago now, his school kept the criers and sent us a photo at 11 of him happily eating. I couldn't decide whether to be relieved or offended ❤ Whoever does the visit should ask exactly this.

the photo at 11 is a smart move. ours got a phone call at 9.15 every day for a week. different philosophy

Not from that side of the city, sorry. One to add to her list: who do they call first when a child gets sick during the day, and how quickly do they expect pickup. With shift work, that question narrowed our options fastest.
