2on does phoenix greens in kokapet take students into class 11
We live in Kokapet and know a couple of families with younger children there, but nobody in the senior classes, so I can't answer what they have for 11th. I wouldn't trust anything second-hand on this. Their admissions office is the only reliable source.
0on Ganpati modak orders are about to peak and my baby is three months old
A food production unit with a three month old in it. I'd worry more about the heat and the noise than about carrier versus bassinet. Is the office corner properly separate from the kitchen?
4on Class 10 science. Is NCERT enough, or do we need the reference books the tuition keeps adding?
Mostly agree, but I'd be careful with 'covered well'. Depends what he's aiming for. My daughter's class 9 tests this year already have more application questions than the NCERT examples, and the school says class 10 will be the same. NCERT for concepts, yes, and some practice beyond it doesn't hurt. Just not three books of it 🙂
1on A school I work with has offered to 'find a seat' for our younger one. Should I take it?
I'd take it 🙂 Everyone uses whatever connection they have for admissions, and you're not paying anybody. The vendor part will sort itself out. If the school is good, the rest is noise.
0on Any parents of primary kids at Joshua High School in Banjara Hills?
Our daughter did a 50 minute ride for years and it was where she read most of her books. Not saying the drive is fine, just that it wasn't all lost time. Depends on the kid I guess :)
1on Three activities started and dropped in a year, and now she wants to try another
One full term, agreed upfront. That's fair, and easier to hold her to than me deciding halfway. What was the third one, if you don't mind me asking?
0on Son wants to drop a year and try JEE again. Did the extra year help yours?
Ask him what he would do differently in the second year, concretely. 'More effort' is not a plan. Two colleagues' children took the year. One improved a lot, the other came out tired and with roughly the same rank. What separated them, as far as I could tell, was whether the first attempt went badly for a reason that could be fixed. And if the friends are a big part of it, that's worth saying out loud with him. Not as an accusation, it's just part of the picture.
2on Can she get through ICSE class 9 and 10 with a senior's old books?
The name inside the cover thing is real. My daughter borrowed a cousin's NCERT books last year and covered every name with stickers before she would open them. Once nobody could tell they were second-hand, she stopped caring :)
