Daughter starts class 3 this month. Her school is CBSE, 40 min drive each way. Joshua High School is basically down the road from us, State Board. Not moving her now, just thinking about next year. What do the small classes do all day, and how heavy is homework? Real answers please, not the brochure 😄
I don't know Joshua, so only on the trade-off. We considered a nearer state board school for our elder one at around the same class and didn't move, mainly because she would have had to change board and friends in the same year. On the other hand, eighty minutes a day in a car is a large part of a seven year old's day. If you do look, moving at the start of class 4 or 5 is likely to be easier than mid-year.
Our daughter did a 50 minute ride for years and it was where she read most of her books. Not saying the drive is fine, just that it wasn't all lost time. Depends on the kid I guess :)
