we asked a few kokapet-side schools this for my elder one last year. most said call after november. also worth asking which board the 11th and 12th would be in, not just what the school offers in the lower classes

"Call after November" from every school. Did any of them give you a date, or the subjects on offer, before that?

coming from icse, would he even want to switch boards for just two years? genuinely asking, we're going to have the same debate in a couple of years

Miyapur to Kokapet every day for 11th and 12th though? That's a lot of road time in the two years that count most 🤷

fair. the drive is what i keep coming back to. he's the one pushing for it, not us

We live in Kokapet and know a couple of families with younger children there, but nobody in the senior classes, so I can't answer what they have for 11th. I wouldn't trust anything second-hand on this. Their admissions office is the only reliable source.

If he is in ICSE now, the comparison I would make is staying for ISC in a familiar school versus switching. The switch gives him whatever drew him to the new school. Staying gives him two years where the format, the teachers and the marking are already known, right before the exams that matter. Both are reasonable; it depends on what is pulling him.
