My child completes an exercise quickly, then we spend ages rewriting the answers because the corrections aren't neat enough. I want the learning to remain visible without making presentation the entire evening. How do you decide what actually needs rewriting?
Ask whether the teacher required a full rewrite before creating extra work at home.
Correct the reasoning first, then address neatness only where it blocks understanding.
We've been adding a requirement that may not exist.
We were rewriting far more than the task asked for. Correcting the actual misunderstanding was the useful part, not making the page pristine.
