Now that he crawls everywhere, what do you mop the floor with?

quiet_bottle_4385

Our 8 month old has started crawling properly and puts his hands, and his mouth, on whatever the floor offers. Our helper mops every morning with the usual floor cleaner and the smell stays for an hour. The caregiver puts him down soon after. I can't decide whether to change what we use, move the mopping to later in the day, or just stop worrying. What did you do once yours were on the floor all day?

Expecting our first. Didn't realise floors would be a whole topic. Adding it to the list.

With my two we switched to plain water with a little vinegar in the rooms where they played, and kept the regular cleaner for the bathrooms and kitchen. The bigger change was mopping while the younger one napped, so the floor was dry before he was down again. Nobody got ill from a bit of floor dust; I worried more than I needed to.

No crawler here yet, she's 3 months, but the daycare we looked at told us they use diluted vinegar in the baby room and the strong stuff after hours. Maybe ask your helper for the same split 🤷

That's a sensible split. Our helper starts at 8, so the strong cleaner can go to the kitchen and bathrooms only and the rest gets the milder mix. Will try it this week.
