A junior colleague asked me about Sri Sai Rama High School in Quthbullapur for her son. I only know CBSE schools

One of the newer teachers at my school lives in Quthbullapur and wants to move her son from a small neighbourhood school to Sri Sai Rama High School for class 4. She assumed that because I work in school admin I'd know. I know the international and CBSE side; state board schools in that area, not at all. What she wants to know: is it English medium through the day, how much homework do the primary classes get, and is there a van from the Suraram side. Parents there, or anyone nearby, I'll pass on whatever you say 🙂

Is she set on state board, or open to CBSE nearby as well? Might widen her options if the van doesn't work out 🙂

tell her to ask for a class 4 notebook from last year. ten minutes with that tells you more about homework and english than any visit.

Wish I'd known this one before class 2. A single look at a senior's notebook would have prepared us for all the copy-writing that came home.

Nizampet side here, so not far. Nobody I know is at Sri Sai Rama, but with most of the smaller schools around Quthbullapur the vans are run by private operators rather than the school. She should ask the office for the operator's number and talk to him directly about the Suraram route and timing.

Kind of you to ask for her. One practical thing from a friend who moved her daughter in primary: get the transfer certificate from the current school started early. Small schools can take weeks to issue it in May when the office staff are on leave.

'Is it English medium' needs a sharper version. Ask which subjects are taught in English and which in Telugu, and what language the class teacher speaks in class. Schools say English medium and mean very different things.
