How much outdoor time do the class 1 and 2 children at Covells High School get?

We live in Sanathnagar and Covells High School is about ten minutes on foot from our house. My younger son is 6 and currently does a long bus ride to a school across the city, so we are considering somewhere closer for next year, and this one is on our list. My main question is about the ordinary day for the younger classes. Is there a regular games period or play time outside, or is it mostly classroom work until the higher classes? He is a very active child, and at his current school the outdoor time seems to have shrunk this year. I would also welcome any general impressions from parents of primary-age children there.

I don't know this school, but when we compared schools for our daughter, the brochure answer and the timetable answer were often different. I would ask to see an actual class 1 weekly timetable, and if possible visit during a games period or near the end of the day. You can tell a lot from whether the ground is being used or just maintained.

  I live nearby and pass that way most mornings, but I'm out to work before school starts, so I can't tell you how their day runs. Agree on the timetable though. I teach younger children myself, and the timetable is where you see whether play is protected or only 'if time permits'.

  Thank you both. A timetable is a much easier thing to ask for than opinions, and it answers the actual question. I'll ask the office for one when I call next week.
