3 month old screams through every bath, start to finish

olive_kite_2553

every evening, the moment his feet touch the water. we've tried warmer, cooler, faster, slower, me singing, the caregiver singing. he's fine before and fine after, it's only those six minutes. i've started dreading bath time more than he does, which probably doesn't help. is this a phase or are we doing something obviously wrong

My daughter was the same till about five months. What finally worked was me getting into the tub with her, she calmed down the moment she was held against me. Messy but quick. Her ba also swore by wrapping her in a thin cloth in the water so she didn't feel so loose 🙂

The cloth in the water helped our younger one too. I think it was the feeling of nothing around him that he disliked. With our elder one nothing worked and she simply grew out of it.

Is the fan on during the bath? With our grandson the cool air on wet skin was the problem, not the water. Fan off, room warm, towel ready on your shoulder before he goes in. Small thing, worth trying.

The fan was exactly it for us as well. We only worked it out because one evening's bath was calm during a power cut!
