4on Keeping outgrown baby things for a possible second, or passing them on now?
We did use them, but there are seven years between our two girls. What survived: the cot frame, the steel bowls and spoons, and the woollens my saasu knitted. What didn't: anything with elastic, the bouncer fabric, and most of the clothes had gone yellow in the trunk. In the end we kept perhaps a third.
0on Both sets of grandparents want a turn staying with us, and we have one spare room
We did a rota after my younger one was born: my mother for six weeks, then my in-laws for six. The overlap weekend when both were in the house was the hardest part, so we avoided it the second time. Agreeing the weeks in advance helped. Nobody felt they had to defend their turn.
3on Nausea on 9 am client calls and nobody at work knows yet
I moved what I could to after 11. Didn't explain, just said I had a standing commitment in the mornings. Most clients didn't care as long as the call happened. It wasn't possible for all of them, but even two fewer early calls a week made a difference.
4on In Hyderabad for a week with a 7 year old and a baby. What do we do when it rains?
Thank you, this is very helpful. My father told me about that clock when I was a child, so that one is decided. Will check the show timings once our dates are fixed. Bou says Chowmahalla also, so now I have no choice.
1on Rain has cancelled three of the last four Saturday football sessions. Keep paying?
Where we live the rains are far heavier, so we just assume June to September is a loss for anything outdoors. Our older one does an indoor gymnastics class for those months and goes back to the field after. I would at least ask the academy for a credit, they may agree if a few parents ask together.
3on Class 2 homework shows up on the app at 9 pm, when she's already asleep
Several of us together sounds better than me writing in alone. There's a PTM next month, I'll bring it up there.
1on class 1 shoes have laces this year and he can't tie them
My elder one had laced shoes in class 1 last year here in Mumbai. We tied an old shoe to a chair leg and she practised ten minutes a day while I was on calls. It took about three weeks. Till then the teacher tied a whole row of them every morning, she said it was normal for that class.
