In Hyderabad for a week with a 7 year old and a baby. What do we do when it rains?

With my partner taking this year off work, we're finally doing the trips we kept postponing. Hyderabad later this month, staying with family friends near Mehdipatnam. The elder one wants palaces and biryani. The baby wants to be held. If it rains the way it does in Mumbai, what is there indoors that works for both of them? Not a mall play area please, we have enough of those at home.

From Tolichowki, so close to where you'll be. Salar Jung Museum is indoors and big enough for a whole morning, and the musical clock is the thing every 7 year old remembers. The Birla planetarium and science museum works too, the planetarium shows run at fixed times so check before you go. Chowmahalla Palace is partly open air but the halls are covered, go on a weekday. Also our rain is not Mumbai rain, haha. It comes and goes. The traffic after it is the real problem.

Thank you, this is very helpful. My father told me about that clock when I was a child, so that one is decided. Will check the show timings once our dates are fixed. Bou says Chowmahalla also, so now I have no choice.
