4on 17 year old says he's done with the Dasara rituals this year
depends on the kid though. mine is 14 and does the whole round of elders mainly for the cash they hand out. at 17 i guess the cash stops working. agree the grandmother conversation is the harder one
0on Moving from Noida to Hyderabad in December. How do I tell my 9 year old?
tell him before the exams. kids that age pick up on stress in the house anyway and then make up their own story keep one thing the same through the move if you can. same bedtime routine, same saturday thing. it helps more than people expect
3on Caregiver has started taking my son to her home on my late on-call evenings
happened with our older one years back. we said yes but she had to message before leaving and when she reached. one conversation, no drama. what bothered me more was the auto ride both ways so we started paying for that and asked her to use the same driver
4on Class 2, and suddenly hungry by 10 am every school day
my 13 yr old started this at 6 and never stopped 🤷 what worked for us was a proper second breakfast, not a snack. a paratha roll or a boiled egg and some fruit for the short break. our school allows it, check if yours does
4on Fair way to handle a caregiver asking for a raise after three months?
no nanny here, relatives help sometimes. but my mother always asked her helper what the increase was for, in her own words. often it was her kids' school fees. changed how my parents looked at it
1on He swims a full length now, but with his head up the whole way. Worth getting it corrected at 9?
my older one swam exactly like this till about 11. what changed it wasn't more lessons, it was a pair of goggles he liked and a friend who swam properly. turned out he kept his head up because water in his eyes bothered him and nobody had asked. worth checking that before you pay for one-to-one
3on my 13 yr old asked what to do about a teammate the other boys keep leaving out
yes that's about where i landed. passing to him is something he can do this weekend. the coach part i haven't made up my mind on
