Caregiver has started taking my son to her home on my late on-call evenings

Our caregiver lives about ten minutes from us. On evenings when I'm held up at the hospital and my partner is still at the lab, she has begun taking our son back to her place so she can cook for her own family at the same time. He comes home fed, happy and full of stories about her grandchildren. Nobody asked us first. I'm not angry, and I can see why it helps her, but I would like to know where my class 1 son is. If you allowed something like this, how did you set it up?

happened with our older one years back. we said yes but she had to message before leaving and when she reached. one conversation, no drama. what bothered me more was the auto ride both ways so we started paying for that and asked her to use the same driver

I'd take it as a good sign that he's comfortable there, and still set one rule: a message when they leave your house and another when they're back. And go over with him once on a weekend, so you can picture the place when your phone is quiet. Kids that age will happily give you the full tour 😄
