1on My boys will eat any vegetable in sambar and none of them as thoran
Tried it on Saturday with cabbage. The 7 year old ate his whole portion, mainly to prove his thoran was better than his brother's. The 8 year old ate two bites and asked for sambar. Half a win.

That's exactly what my partner says. Rajma for years, though! Did he eat them any other way in between, or did it just switch one day?
Rooftop court is exactly what we have now. They play, they enjoy it, but it isn't the same as a muddy field. Still thinking about everyone's point on the ride, though.
Good point, I'll ask. The boys would cheerfully skip lunch for it, so the timetable matters more than the size.
2on She begged to join the school choir in June. Three weeks in, she wants out
Standing alone twice a week would bother me more than the boredom. Could you ask the teacher whether she can be placed next to someone? Small thing, but it might change how it feels for her.
1on How much should I help with grade 1 take-home inquiry tasks?
We get similar tasks for our younger one. What's worked is that he talks and I write exactly what he says, mistakes and all, with 'his words' at the top of the page. The teacher seemed happy with that. The drawing is fully his, even when the tomato looks like a cricket ball. He's prouder of those pages than of any neat ones ❤️
1on Anyone around Attapur or Rajendranagar who repairs kids' battery cars?
This is our story too. The boys fought over it for one season, then it became a shelf for their football boots in the parking. That one season was worth it though ❤
1on Do schools like St. Andrews in Sainikpuri let outside kids join their summer coaching?
Can't speak for St. Andrews itself. When I asked around for my boys, the answer at most schools was that an outside academy runs the summer coaching on their ground, and you deal with the academy, not the school. So ask the office for the academy's name and go from there.
1on Partner's year-end closing runs till 11 every night, and my US calls start at 8
The protected hour is a good idea. On release days I do something similar with my boys, 6.30 to 7.30, no laptop in the room. One thing that made it work for us: they choose what we do in that hour, so it feels like theirs and not like I'm squeezing them in between meetings ❤️
