1on How many of the pregnancy appointments did you manage to attend?
Our second is a baby now, ten years after the first, so I've done this twice around a theatre schedule. The routine check-ups my partner was fine doing alone. The ones I'm glad I blocked were the detailed scan around the middle of the pregnancy and the visit where the delivery plan was discussed. Ask the clinic for a rough window for those as early as they can give one; most can once the earlier results are in.
2on 7 months old and he's found his own voice. Full-volume shrieking, everywhere we go
Same age as our youngest, who has just started this. With our older daughter I had forgotten it ever happened. We let it go everywhere except at home at 6 in the morning.
1on Fair way to handle a caregiver asking for a raise after three months?
We did both. A yearly increase at the start of the year, and a separate amount when the job genuinely changed, which for us was when our younger one started solids and needed her own meals cooked. Keeping them separate meant the yearly one didn't turn into a negotiation every time something shifted.
1on Does reading the new textbooks before school starts make a child bored in class later?
That's the real risk, I think, more than boredom. Our older one did the same, and some teachers liked it and one clearly didn't. We never really settled how much to say to her about it, because we didn't want to teach her to hide what she knew.
0on An aunt told my 12 year old she's 'getting healthy'. She won't eat in front of relatives now
I agree with this more than the advice to let it go. When it happened to my elder one, what she remembered later was not the comment but who stayed quiet. You don't need a scene. A calm 'we don't talk about her food' at the table is enough, and she hears it.
