Would St. Rita High School's holidays line up with mine? I teach at another CBSE school

Our son is in daycare and nursery is a couple of years off. We live in Miyapur, and St. Rita is one of the schools near enough to make sense. I teach at a different CBSE school with an early start, and what worries me most is the calendar. If his holidays, exam weeks and PTM Saturdays roughly match mine, the next ten years are much easier. If they don't, every break becomes a childcare puzzle. So, for parents there: does the school year run close to the usual pattern for CBSE schools in the city, or are the dates quite different? And are PTMs usually on Saturdays?

I work in school administration (not at St. Rita), so only a general note. CBSE doesn't fix holiday dates for schools. The long breaks tend to fall in the same weeks across the city, but exam weeks, PTMs and the odd local holiday vary a lot, even between two schools on the same road. The most useful thing is to ask the office for last year's printed calendar and lay it next to your own school's. Ten minutes with the two side by side will answer most of this.

Good tip. We're at the same stage with our little one and I hadn't thought of comparing calendars at all. Does your own school give you the whole year's calendar in June? Our daycare sends theirs month by month and planning anything is hopeless.

      Replying to @lilac_kettle_9569

Ours comes out in April for the full year, though it still changes once or twice. I'll ask St. Rita for theirs when I go past. Daycare month by month is the same for us, very annoying.

the preschool years are the worst for this. ours shuts for things no big school has heard of 🤷

Even inside one family it rarely lines up. Our two girls are in the same school and still have different exam weeks, because the junior and senior sections plan separately. I'd treat a matching calendar as a bonus rather than a reason to choose a school.
