Working from home means my 16 year old thinks I'm always free to drive her

Tuition at 4, a friend's place at 6, back by 9. Each one is 'just ten minutes away' and each one lands in the middle of a call or a deploy. When I say no, I get 'but you're at home'. She can take an auto for most of these and has done before. Is it convenience, or does she want company in the car? I can't work it out. How have others drawn this line without a fight every evening?

Mine is 4, so I can only speak as the daughter in this story. My mother ran a small business from home and I treated her exactly like this at 16. Looking back, half of it was wanting the time with her. Could you offer one fixed drive a day that's hers to pick, and the rest are autos?

Tried the one-drive rule for three days. She picked the 9 pm pickup every time, which is the one I'd have done anyway, and talked the whole way home. The afternoon ones have gone to autos with very little argument. So you may have been right about the company.
