Weighing SR digi School in Champapet, in case my work pulls us across the city

Most of my delivery calls this year have been at a hospital out towards Saroornagar. Kondapur to there at 2 am is fine. At 6 pm it's an hour and a half, and babies don't wait. So we're talking about renting near Champapet. Our daughter is 4, in an ICSE preschool now, and would join a new school next June. SR digi School in Champapet keeps coming up because it's near the flats we've seen, and it lists both CBSE and State Board. Anyone with a small child there? Mainly want to know what the little ones' day looks like, and whether ICSE to CBSE at that age is a non-issue.

  • Can't speak for the school. On the drive though: I do clinic visits on that side for work, and weekday evenings from the ORR exit have taken me close to two hours. Might change the maths.

One thing from experience and one assumption, kept separate. Experience: when our son changed schools, the shortlist we made from a distance was not where we ended up after the visits. Assumption: if your calls follow one hospital now, they may not in two years, so I wouldn't pick a school around the hospital alone.

ICSE to CBSE at 4 or 5 is a non-issue, they're still learning letters and numbers. What would keep me up is the other thing you mentioned, no family nearby and a parent on delivery calls. Whichever school you pick, work out what happens on the days pickup goes wrong. That's what wore us down when both of us had long days.

  • Genuine question, not a dig: is moving the whole family easier than moving which hospital you take calls at?

For most of us the patients choose the hospital, not the doctor. Moving the family is sometimes the only lever.
