Our UKG daughter shares the van with class 9 boys, and came home with a new word

dusk_sparrow_2001

Not a terrible word. But not one I want my UKG child saying in front of her grandmother either. She shares the school van with about six boys from class 8 and 9. They sit at the back and she sits right in front of them, by choice, because they are 'very funny'. The van aunty is kind but busy with the little ones getting on and off. Do I speak to the driver, the school, or is there any point talking to the boys themselves? I don't want her moved away from them as if they're a problem. They've been sweet to her otherwise ❤

My sister is in class 8, and I can tell you the boys most likely have no idea the little ones are listening. A quiet word from an adult usually works better than a complaint through the school. If the van attender is willing, she could simply tell them a UKG girl has started repeating things. Most boys that age would be mortified.

The seniors in our son's van taught him a few words at about the same age. It passed once nobody reacted. Is it a word she understands, or one she just likes the sound of?

I asked our son, who has just finished his class 10 exams, what would have stopped him and his friends at that age. His answer was that their driver once said 'not in front of the babies', and they stopped for the rest of the year. I cannot promise it went exactly like that, but it may be worth trying before going to the school.
