Design entrance prep for a 16 year old. Portfolio first, or the exam coaching?
My daughter is 16, in class 11, and wants to study design after school. She draws constantly and has been making small product sketches in a notebook for a couple of years. Every place she has looked at seems to want something different. Some have an entrance exam with a drawing and aptitude section, some want a portfolio, a few want both plus an interview. The coaching centres near Puppalaguda all offer a two-year package for the exams, and I can't tell whether that should come first or whether she ought to be building a portfolio now and worrying about the exams later. I am trying to understand the order of decisions rather than choose a course for her. If your child went this way, what would you tell a parent at the start of class 11?
