My 4 year old plays school and she's doing my classroom voice

Heard this from the next room this morning: 'Friends. Friends. Eyes on me. I am waiting.' She had six soft toys lined up on the bed and was standing in front of them with my reading glasses on. I teach primary. I did not know I sounded like that ❤

Wait till she starts correcting your grammar 😊 Mine did it at 6 and still does it at 16. As a teacher myself I'm told daily that I'm 'using teacher voice at home'.

Oh no. She already told me last week that I said 'gonna' and it's not a real word.

Couldn't sleep, and remembered she also takes attendance for the toys every night. Yesterday the elephant was marked absent for 'not listening'. That is not something I do!! I think.

      Replying to @peach_notebook_4625

marking the elephant absent for not listening is harsh. sounds like a proper teacher

As a fellow teacher I recognised myself in this. My daughter, when she was small, used to send her dolls to the principal's office for talking. The principal was a cushion.

Ours plays doctor, not school. Every toy is told 'no more biscuits today' in a voice I'm informed is mine.

The principal is always the final threat. My daughter had a bear at that age who was the principal, and nobody was allowed to touch him.
