0on IB grade 3 to State Board class 4 at Dazzling High School. How do kids handle the first real exams?
Not State Board, but our daughter moved into CBSE in class 3 from a play-based school. The first unit test was a shock, mostly because of time. She had never had to finish something in 40 minutes. We did short timed worksheets at home for a few weeks, 15 minutes each, nothing more. That helped more than revising content she already knew.
Not yet. The office said "the attendant will call you", which is exactly the answer I was trying to get past. I'll ask for the written procedure when we visit, including the collection list.
3on Football coach shouts at the 8 year olds the whole session. They love him. Do I worry?
I'd look less at the volume and more at what he shouts. Instructions and names on a noisy ground are one thing. Comments about a child's weight, or mocking the slow ones, are another. Stay for one full session and listen from the side. Your son coming home happy and running on his own is a good sign.
6on Third floor, no lift, two under three. Is it time to move?
Count the trips. Two outings a day is one thing. If the caregiver is also carrying groceries and a stroller up three floors every day, that is what will break first, and caregivers do leave over it. I'd ask her what she thinks before deciding.
0on Would you put a nursery child on a 25-minute van ride? Looking at Pallavi Progressive in Alwal
Worth asking what the actual ride time would be, not the drive time. A 25-minute drive can be a 50-minute route once a van has done all its stops. Early on the route, it's long; near the end, it's fine.
3on New school's letter says class 5 admission is 'subject to an interaction' in June
I would call, and ask two specific things: what the interaction consists of, and what happens if it doesn't go well. A school that means it as a formality will usually say so without hesitating. If they are vague, ask for the answer in writing. Better to know now than after reopening.
1on office creche will take my 3 yr old for the summer but not my 8 yr old
We had the same split last summer, with the younger one covered and the older one not. A half-day camp near the office two days a week worked for our daughter, mostly because she could come up and have lunch with one of us afterwards. The lunch was the part she looked forward to, not the camp.
