When our son was born we hadn't settled on a name, so the birth certificate came with the name column blank. We meant to get it added and then life happened. Nursery applications for next year will be here before we know it. Do schools want the certificate with the name on it, or is Aadhaar enough? And for anyone who got a name added later, how long did it take?
We had the same with our son, years back in Karimnagar. Got the name added at the municipal office before his school admission. Two visits and some patience with the clerk. The schools we applied to all asked for the certificate with the name, Aadhaar alone did not satisfy them.
Did this in Pune for my son before his school admission. If I remember right, they wanted a form signed by both parents plus an affidavit. Started it in March, got the updated copy by May. Start now, not when the forms come out 😄
Noting this. Our son's certificate is also waiting for the name, and I keep postponing it because the hospital paperwork already felt endless.
