My mother can do the 12.30 nursery pickup but doesn't drive. Regular auto, or keep looking?

Our first choice of school for our 3 year old's nursery next June finishes at 12.30. My partner works in a lab and I have fixed release dates, so a midday pickup isn't realistic for either of us. My mother is at home with us and happy to collect him. She doesn't drive, and the school is about 4 km away through Kokapet traffic. Is a fixed auto both ways every day something families manage with a grandparent and a small child? I'd like this sorted before we pay the admission fee, not after.
