Son's first week in a new evening batch near our place. Coach had the new boys fielding for the seniors, which I thought would upset him. He came home thrilled. He has explained the difference between cover and point to me, his sister, our helper and the watchman. He wants a new cap because 'fielders need sun protection'. He has not batted yet. He does not seem to mind ❤️
my 4 yr old will accept any title that comes with a cap. this is good energy, keep the cap budget ready
New boys field for the first few weeks at most academies. It is a reasonable way to see who turns up regularly. My son spent his first month at slip and short leg and still talks about one catch. The cap request is legitimate, by the way. Evening sun at the nets is harsh.
'fielders need sun protection' is a very good argument. my daughter would use it for sunglasses
Please don't give him ideas, sunglasses are already next on his list 😄
