Five training mornings a week and my 13 year old is 'just resting her eyes' at 7 pm

coral_drum_4452

Training went up to five mornings a week this month. Yesterday I found my 13 year old asleep at the dining table at 7 in the evening, one shoe off, maths notebook open at the same page it was on an hour earlier. When I woke her she told me, quite firmly, that she was not sleeping, she was resting her eyes. She then went to bed at 7.40 and dinner was not mentioned again. I suppose this is the conversation with the coach I have been postponing.

one shoe off is the giveaway haha. my 9 yr old does the same after a long day, one sock, mid sentence

Our 12 year old uses the same words, 'just resting'. Usually means she's finished for the day. Good luck with the coach. Ask what the extra sessions are for before saying yes.

This is exactly me in class 8 during kabaddi season. My amma used to find me asleep with the plate in front of me. Now I'm six months pregnant and doing the same thing at 8 pm, so maybe it never goes away 😄
