Daughter and two friends want to run a cake stall at our apartment's Sunday market

Our daughter is 14 and has baked with me since she was small. She and two friends from the building have asked for a table at the residents' Sunday market. They already have a menu, prices and a name. I am happy about it, mostly. My partner is less sure about three teenagers handling money, hygiene and the oven on Saturdays, when they plan to bake and I am usually at the office. How involved should we be? Hands off with a few rules, or an adult present the whole time?

Let them. Make them cost it properly, butter and gas included. Last Diwali my 13 year old and two friends sold out and still lost money. Best maths lesson she's had 🙂

Our society in Saket has a kids' flea market twice a year. Rule there is one adult sits near the cash box, not at the stall. The kids run everything else. Works well.

Near the cash box, not at the stall. That is the line I was looking for, and I think she will accept it. Thank you.

Does your association need a written request? Ours in KPHB asks for one even for children's stalls, mainly about food and the space used. Better to know before they print the menu.

My worry would be the oven, not the selling. Will someone be home while they bake? Ours is only 5, so I'm far from this, but the teenagers in our building did a lemonade table last summer and it was the nicest morning we've had there ❤

Has the first Sunday happened yet? Our daughter wants to try something similar during the holidays, and I would like to hear how they priced things and what sold.
