0on IB grade 3 to State Board class 4 at Dazzling High School. How do kids handle the first real exams?
One practical thing nobody has mentioned yet: the second language. State Board schools here teach Telugu, and a child joining in class 4 is expected to read and write it at that level. If she has done Hindi or French in IB, ask how they handle late joiners and whether there's any support. For a boy who joined my son's class from another state, that was the hardest subject by far.
Did the grammar actually need checking?
0on Our car has no ISOFIX. Anyone around Habsiguda or Tarnaka who can check a seatbelt-fitted baby seat?
The shop in Kukatpally where we bought ours fitted it in our car before we left, though that was some years ago. Their test was simple: hold the seat where the belt goes through and it shouldn't move more than about an inch side to side. Putting a knee in the seat while tightening made the difference for us.
3on Daughter and two friends want to run a cake stall at our apartment's Sunday market
Does your association need a written request? Ours in KPHB asks for one even for children's stalls, mainly about food and the space used. Better to know before they print the menu.
1on A few parents want their children to skip the school's joint sports morning with a special school
I would not answer them in the group at all. Write to the class teacher and suggest the school explain the plan at the next meeting. Parents who ask 'is it compulsory' are often worried about something practical, timing or transport, and a public reply makes their question sound like an accusation.
0on My mother says our toddler eats like a sparrow. She seems perfectly happy to me
Write down everything she eats for three days, snacks and milk included, before deciding anything. When we did this with our son at about that age, he was eating far more than we thought. Most of it was between meals, which is why the plates looked untouched.
