Class 1 show-and-tell: she took my old chest X-ray, and her teacher had questions

hazel_river_9708

Theme was 'something from your parent's work'. I gave her an old film of my own chest from years ago, no name on it. She held it up to the classroom light, told everyone 'this is Appa's inside', and pointed out the heart. Today the class teacher asked me, very carefully, whether I'm keeping well.

When my daughter was that age she took a tile sample for the same thing and told everyone I make floors. The teacher asked if I could look at the staffroom floor.

Far better than my son's effort. He took my office ID card and told the class I 'swipe for a living'.

Did she point to the correct side for the heart, though? That's the real test.

Our school would have pinned it on the science wall and kept it. Ask for it back before it becomes a permanent exhibit.

This made my morning. My 13 year old used to tell people I 'talk on the phone and get paid', which is close enough to what an adviser does.

Mine told her class I 'shout at laptops'. Not wrong on release days.

      Replying to @lagoon_violin_7015

Mine has also said I 'look at ghosts in a dark room'. Hers might be the most accurate of the lot.

The careful 'are you keeping well' is the best part. Hope you told her it was from years ago.
