Both families want to come and stay after the baby, and we have a 2BHK

Baby is due in a couple of months. My parents and my partner's parents both want to come and stay for the first few weeks, together, and they're keen to book train tickets before the Diwali rush. We have a two-bedroom flat in Serilingampally. We'd like to fix dates now before anyone books. How did others split visits, and how long did each side stay?

First month, one set at a time. Speaking from a 2BHK with six adults and a newborn fourteen years ago. We laugh about it now. It wasn't funny at the time.

Stagger it. One side for the first two weeks, the other for the next two. Whoever comes first helps run the house; whoever comes second gets a slightly calmer baby. Agree it with both families on the same call, so nobody feels they got the second slot by accident.

Does your complex have a guest room, or is there a serviced flat nearby? We booked one for visitors when my son was born and it saved everyone's sleep.

Checked. The complex has a guest room, bookable five nights at a time. That could let both sets overlap for a few days instead of a strict handover.
