Bechari. Mine was told the same in UKG and for a week she answered everything in one word, it was almost funny. What helped us was one friend she could chat with without worrying. Is there someone from class you could call over before June? 🙂

Does her class teacher know her well? A short note to the teacher when school reopens might help, so it doesn't repeat in class.

Children say this kind of thing to each other constantly at that age, and mostly forget it a week later. The child who said it probably already has. The harder part is that your daughter hasn't. I would keep asking her small questions about what she is looking forward to in June, rather than going back to the party.

My older one is a big talker too. We started telling her 'you have a lot of words, you get to choose who gets them'. She liked the idea that it was her choice. Won't work for every kid, but it ended the sulking here.

Speaking as a primary teacher: chatty children are often the ones who make a class easier to teach, not harder. Teachers notice the kids who ask questions and talk about ideas, and it might help her to hear that. She's also allowed to say 'that wasn't nice' to a friend. Practising that one sentence at home might give her something to hold on to ❤
