8 month old back to waking every two hours. Teeth, standing, or just us?

She was doing one wake-up a night for about a month. This week it's every two hours again, and she's wide awake and cheerful at 3am, which is somehow worse lol. No fever, eating fine, pulling herself up on everything during the day. Did this pass on its own for others, and roughly how long did it take? Trying to work out whether to change anything or just survive it.

Saving this one. Is this the famous '8 month regression' everyone keeps warning me about? Expecting our first and learning a new scary term every week 😄

We're at 2 months and already being warned about the 4 month one. Apparently there's one for every month 🤷

Our granddaughter did exactly this around then. Her parents put it down to the standing. She'd pull up in the cot half asleep and then not know how to get down. Lasted maybe three weeks. They practised sitting down from standing in the daytime, not sure if that helped or time did.

awake at 4am for no reason and reading baby sleep threads while partner snores. apparently this is also practice

My daughter is sixteen now, so this is memory rather than advice. We had a similar stretch at about that age, which coincided with her first tooth and with pulling to stand. Our paediatrician's view at the time was to get her ears checked if there was fever, and otherwise to keep the routine steady and wait. It did end, in a few weeks.

    • That's reassuring. No fever so far and the standing practice is non-stop, so it fits. We'll keep things as they are and give it a couple of weeks.
