4 month old has a sit-down detector. Standing only, or she cries

She's fine as long as whoever is holding her is standing. The moment you sit, slowly, halfway, doesn't matter, she knows. Starts crying before you've touched the sofa. Did a whole client call on my feet yesterday. Watch says I walked 4 km around the living room. My partner says I'm teaching her bad habits. My partner also sat down for thirty seconds this morning and was punished immediately.

    Our younger son had exactly this. The only workaround we found was a gym ball. Sitting on it and bouncing gently counted as standing, as far as he was concerned. It saved my back through most of that term.

      the gym ball trick worked for us too. we still have the ball. it's a laundry stand now
