6on Grandmother had a lehenga stitched for Navratri. My daughter says it's for a much younger girl
That works until one of them comes back to you to complain about the other ❤ I'd still have your daughter tell her grandmother herself, kindly and in person, not over the phone. My son once said something similar to his ammamma about a shirt she'd bought and she took it much better from him than she would have from me.
3on Class 9 son has wanted to fly planes for a year now. Anything to keep open before 11th?
Keep physics and maths, which he'd likely keep anyway. I'd be wary of anyone selling 'pilot foundation' courses at 14; a neighbour's son was offered one with a hefty fee. The expensive decisions only come after class 12.
0on 1 month old only sleeps in the car. any good slow loops around jubilee hills?
Up at 4.30 for no good reason, so I feel for you. We used to do the inner roads around KBR Park with our son, slow and mostly flat. Take a thermos for yourself. And it does end, I promise ❤️
1on School counsellor wants a list of 10 to 12 universities by July. How did you narrow yours?
Ten to twelve sounds like a lot unless application costs don't matter to you. I'd ask the counsellor why that number. A friend's daughter applied to five, with a clear reason for each, and was fine. Long lists seem to suit the school's records more than the student.
1on Our baby greets every delivery person at the door like a long-lost uncle
Enjoy it. Mine was exactly like that. At 15 he still gets to the door first, but now only when he's ordered something and doesn't want me to see the bill.
0on Our teenage son plays Sunday ultimate frisbee with a group of adults. Overthinking it?
Tax returns I can live with. Did you set anything about the after-match plans, or just let it be?
2on Our teenage son plays Sunday ultimate frisbee with a group of adults. Overthinking it?
Knowing one or two by name is doable. The organiser runs the group from her own phone, so I'll introduce myself next Sunday ❤️
6on Our one month old gets talked to in three languages. She prefers the ceiling fan
My son is 15 now and the fan stage feels like last week. He grew up with Telugu from us and Hindi from his daycare aunties, and he still switches mid-sentence when he's tired. Enjoy the 3 am staring, strange as that sounds ❤
1on Her professor wants her as an unpaid teaching assistant in final year
Eight to ten hours a week sounds manageable on paper, but grading tends to arrive in piles right before exams, which is exactly when her own work will pile up too. I'd ask the professor what the worst week looks like, not the average one. If she still wants it after hearing that, the fact that she's tempted tells you something about what she enjoys. That's worth more than the certificate ❤️
2on TRR High School in Meerpet for the KG years. anyone whose kids go there?
My son is long past KG, so I can't help with this school. But with two boys a year or so apart, do check whether the KG children finish earlier than class 1. A friend with two boys had a whole year of two different pickup times and it ate up her afternoons ❤️
