Our baby greets every delivery person at the door like a long-lost uncle

He's just started crawling properly, and the doorbell is now the best sound in the world. He races to the door, pulls himself up on the grille and gives whoever is there a huge grin and a long speech. The grocery delivery man now asks for him by name. Yesterday the courier stayed an extra minute to wave back. My partner says we're raising a future colony secretary ❤️

Enjoy it. Mine was exactly like that. At 15 he still gets to the door first, but now only when he's ordered something and doesn't want me to see the bill.

Can confirm, the doorbell-to-teenager speed doubles for a food order. Ours also gets there first for parcels addressed to me. He calls it helping.

ours did the same with the watchman. he still stops at our door on his rounds to say hi to them, years later 🤷

We're past the grinning stage and into 'run out of the door the second it opens'. Fit a gate before he works out the latch.

Something to look forward to. Ours has exactly one response to the doorbell so far, which is to wake up screaming.
