1on She begged to join the school choir in June. Three weeks in, she wants out
As a teacher I'll say gently that 'the songs are for babies' and 'my friend didn't get in' are two very different complaints, and the second usually fades once they make a choir friend. Three weeks is early for that. I'd push for the programme and revisit after 🙂
1on Our 16 year old wants her own debit card. I can't settle on a limit, or whether to look at it
Half my DP students already pay for everything by UPI, some with cards their parents know very little about. The ones who struggle with money in the first year away are usually the ones who never handled any before. I'd worry less about the café and more about whether she can tell you what's in the account without checking.
0on Our 15 year old has started calling me by my first name, and it's been three weeks
Does it bother you, or does it bother the family? If it's mostly her grandmother, maybe the deal is 'not in front of Ammamma' or whatever you call her. My nephew tried calling his father by name for a while and it faded once nobody reacted. Not sure that's a rule though 🙂
