Noting this for later. We haven't even picked a daycare, but my partner will be home for the first year, so I can already see this happening to us the other way round

Fair. We've agreed the first year. After that is genuinely open, which I suspect is what they're picking up on.

Fellow Punekar here (Viman Nagar, so this felt like news from home, ha). Charging is right. Two friends ran summer art mornings in our building, one paid and one free. The paid one ran full. The free one fizzled in a week. All the best with the move, and with the job hunt!
