3on Friend keeps mentioning Global Discovery School for nursery. We're in Habsiguda
From the school side: nursery parents who live far often move their children closer by UKG. Not always, but often enough that I'd think about it now. Visit anyway if your friend's experience is that good, it will give you something to compare closer schools against 🙂
2on Relatives say start cow's milk at 10 months. Our doctor said wait till one
Our daughter is 21 now so don't trust my memory on dates, but I do remember the arguments were never about milk. They were about who gets the final word. Settle that one at home and the milk question becomes small 🙂
Update. She went to the college yesterday. No attendance exceptions for jobs in the final year, but they allow an internship semester in the last term if the company gives a letter. So what she's putting to the startup is three days a week now and full time from January. They haven't replied yet. Thank you both, the exam-month question was the one she hadn't thought about.
Still up thinking about it, so thank you. The writing part is fair. Right now the offer is one WhatsApp message and a phone call. I'll ask her to get a proper letter that mentions exam leave 🙂
0on Six month old's first cold, and the home remedies are arriving faster than the sneezes
Twenty years ago it was my mother-in-law with the ajwain potli and me quoting the doctor, so I recognise the scene. What eventually worked for us was giving the elders a job that does no harm. My mother-in-law was in charge of warming the potli and keeping it near the cot, and she felt heard. Anything that went into the baby's mouth or nose was the doctor's department, full stop, and my partner said that, not me. When you quote the doctor yourself it becomes a debate. When the other parent says "doctor said, let's wait", it ends. Hope she's breathing easy soon 🙂
4on Daycare opens half an hour later from mid-June, and my one fixed office day starts at 9
The reason they're moving it is almost always staff. Early shifts are the hardest to fill and June is when people leave. So by all means ask for an early drop, but also ask what happens when the one early person is on leave. That's the Thursday you'll be stuck :)
2on Our caregiver completes a year with us next week. How did you mark it?
Keep the raise and the thank-you separate if you can. When they come together, the gift looks like a substitute for the raise. Years ago we asked our daughter's ayah what would help her most, expecting her to say money. She asked for a week off at Sankranti so she could go home. We gave both :)
