My daughter has been putting on 'shows' for us every evening since the summer, with costumes made from every dupatta in the house and a lot of bowing 😄 Looking for a weekend drama or theatre class with kids around her age. Not elocution or recitation, she'd hate that, more games and acting together. Within 15 to 20 minutes of Masab Tank or Mehdipatnam.
Not in your area, but my nephew's weekend theatre group spends most of the session on games and improvising, and only a little on scripts. He loved it for exactly the reason you mention. Ask whichever place you find what a typical session looks like.
Ours did a summer theatre workshop at about 7 that ended with a short performance for parents. The performance was what he loved; the weeks before it were just the build-up. Ask whether a term ends in some kind of show. It keeps them going.
My son went to a Sunday theatre group at a community hall near Mehdipatnam for about a year. Mixed ages, roughly 7 to 14, mostly games and short plays. I'll check whether it's still running and post here.
