Two bags for a three-hour housewarming. Needed exactly one spare kurta, mine

indigo_bookmark_7794

Took the 8 month old to a cousin's housewarming across town. Packed two bags: diapers, three outfits, wipes, food, spoon, bib, the noisy toy, a blanket in case the AC was cold. He slept in the car, slept through the puja, woke up for ten minutes to be admired and went back to sleep. Nothing came out of either bag. The only casualty was my kurta, which he spat up on in the car before we even got inside. I had packed nothing for myself.

every mother learns this once. carried a full bag for my daughter till she was nearly 3 and never once packed a spare dupatta 🤷

A spare shirt has lived in my car since our son was a baby. He is 14 now and it is still there, though it is a different shirt.
