Tuition homework is eating the only free hour

My daughter gets through her regular schoolwork and then remembers a second set from tuition. Neither amount looks huge on its own. Put together, there is no time to simply play before dinner. I am thinking of reducing tuition days but she likes the teacher. Has anyone adjusted the arrangement without turning it into another negotiation about marks?

    I asked the tutor which tasks were essential and which were practice. There turned out to be room to cut back.

      I had assumed every worksheet was compulsory. I should clarify that.

    We kept the tuition but stopped treating all remaining exercises as same-day homework.
