Three months after the birth and my hair is coming out in handfuls

Every morning there's a little nest of hair on my pillow, and clearing the shower drain is a daily job now. My mother says it happened to her too and it all grows back. I believe her, mostly. But I'm back at work and meeting customers again, and I'm a bit self-conscious about my parting. How long did it last for you? And did anything help, even if it was just a different hairstyle while it settled?

My partner had the same at about that point. Her doctor ran blood tests for thyroid and iron first; both came back normal and the shedding slowed down by around six months. Hairstyle-wise, she cut it shorter, which made the regrowth less obvious.

  Same with me after my daughter. The worst part was the regrowth, a row of short hairs along my forehead that stood straight up for months. My daughter calls it my 'baby fringe' when she sees old photos :)
